$BioNTech (BNTX.US)$ Less dangerous variants are what nature does. If a virus kills you or makes you incredibly sick, you can't spread it. Strains become dominate by becoming milder, allowing for those infected to go out and spread it without knowing they have it.

Dr Wickers : This is the aftermath of the virus spreading, and has no logical effect at this moment. We basically have two doors, one with a mild virus and the other with dangerous virulence. It’s still 50/50 which one it will be.
The nature doesn’t decide to decrease virulence in order to spread wider. It happens if the virus happens to be less virulent. A hindsight insight is not really helpful now.
FreyatheFre Dr Wickers : No, it’s not 50/50. Natural progression is lesser virulence and greater transmissibility. The virus doesn’t want to kill its host.
Timothy Roberts FreyatheFre : Tell that to ebola and HIV.
643YVeALhF FreyatheFre : Yes absolutely agree. But natural progression of where CoVid or any virus goes 2-3 years from now, does not inform how each particular variant behaves.
