$Crude Oil Futures(FEB5) (CLmain.US)$$Tesla (TSLA.US)$I use about 300-400 gallons of gas a year. So let me sell my car, and buy a $45k car to save about $1k a year. My ROI is only forever. It would take me 3.3 years just to make up on the sales tax.

You make a good point in regard to fuel cost, however that's only part of the story. BEV's have far fewer moving parts, maintenance will be much less expensive, particularly as the used cars get older. My insurance is about 20% less, and look out for future resale values of ICE cars, as demand gravitates toward BEV's.

$100 to $150 per year, great, lucky you, maybe it's time to get out from under the Corolla before it's too late, and buy a BEV. I drive a Tesla model 3. It's almost four years old, and I could probably sell it for about 90% of what I paid for it, how does that compare?

Sorry, but if you’re putting 400 gallons of gas a year into a corolla, you’re probably driving about 11-12k miles per year. After 6 years, you’re probably around 72,000 on the odometer. You’ve probably gone through about 2 tire changes (say, $750 a set-$1,500 total). You’ve had about 6-8 oil changes over that time-let’s say that’s $200. You’ve had 2-3 medium services at about $125 each-$250 total. You should have had 2 30k services at $400 each, for $800 total. That’s about $2500-3000 bucks. Not the $600-900 you’ve estimated. I would guess the actual total is higher, but you’re not being honest in your argument w/ your numbers, or you’re just not maintaining your car properly.

visit https://www.tesla.com/trips to see the charging stations available NATIONWIDE. Yes, California has tons, but many other states do too. I have no idea what you’re going on about w/ respect to EVs needing tires. Of course they do. What’s your point?

yokim : If all you’ve done is oil changes for 72000 miles, you’re doing it wrong.
