$DBS Group Holdings (D05.SG)$ Walao eh. I used to trade DBS all the time. Recently switched to US market so didnt pay much attention to SG market. Yesterday decided to come back to SG market, and bought UOB, now it’s the worst performing (since the dip) among the banks and DBS is the best performing!! Why did I switch… 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

  • StillnewBenice : I think Uob would still have room to grow. Although it’s not performing as how it should be. But is less risky compared to DBS for now. As I think their support is still about $25+ for now. As for DBS price it may slightly be on the higher side. But it’s the best performer and also the riskiest among all 3. It can go up and down within 1 day as shown in the last 2 days. But still I think DBS is still good la. If continue uptrend who knows can go back to $32+. #just sharing my thoughts.

  • 102965488 OP StillnewBenice : Personally I like DBS’ volatility (it’s not too volatile, but volatile enough to not “feel stagnant”). UOB definitely still has room to grow (I’ve observed this stock for some time now, observing it from the side while investing in DBS/OCBC), but yeah the current performance is really not expected.

Anywho, in my books OCBC is the worst (from past experience). It might be cheap, but it’s “dead”; I remember when UOB and DBS went up upon good news of the COVID situation, whereas OCBC just sat there quietly… It tends to go up, stay there for a very long time, then suddenly dip all and stay there for longer.  I prefer to take short term profits (for me it has been more profitable), so OCBC is definitely not for me.

Thanks for your comment btw, I really enjoy discussing these things 👍

  • StillnewBenice 102965488 OP : Yes I totally agree on ur description on DBS volatility part, is volatile but yet stable enough. Although sometimes can be really scary. I too trade short term for both DBS and UOB but so far UOB did surprise me when it went up to $28, but a pity I sold too early when it started climbing. As for OCBC, yea I kind of know what u mean, but when it drop below $11 I was kind of tempted. Anyway, short term wise banks should still be good for now I think.

  • vgxsy : I have all the three stocks, and Ocbc is my worst performing. Dbs is ex now but I did buy last week when it dipped. Will b happier if I wait a while more before entering. I recall pre covid, dbs is committed to at least $1.20 dividends per year. That is a plus point to me
