Shouldn't long-term holders be happy with the activity over the last few days?

I browse the daily stocks thread and there seems to be a lot of reaction to any sort of movement. Correct me if I'm wrong but my guess is that these comments are made by either inexperienced investors (like myself) or those looking to trade rather than invest.

If it's a long-term investment surely it doesn't matter today what's happening? If anything shouldn't it be a good thing as you can top up in those companies you still believe in?

Maybe I need to stop reading the daily threads...

  • Singh Rahul : People don’t like seeing two months of gains drained in a few days for no reason

  • Everylilting : If you are a long term investor, whatever is happening today is just a small dent in the whole graph chart when you look back.

  • Upncoming1841 : Normal for investors to vent sadness/frustration/anger/resignation when they see the prices of their beloved stocks go down.

  • stonks 30000 : long term investors shouldn't care much about short term fluctuations. that being said, you should still at least know what's going on with the company and the economy to reduce losses/maximize profits.

  • beedeebee : True that, if you are investor, you will be collecting more at this price.

  • Upncoming1841 : When investors see a sea of red in their portfolios, they questioned if God exists, whether they have misinterpreted the technical charts, whether their fundamental analysis was correct, question the intellect of the CEOs concerned, the mental soundness of those who sold their shares, and seek the views of other investors to determine which of the a/m reasons are correct. 😁

  • Lynn Ng : Hh

  • THEWIZARD : Yes! You should stop reading the daily comments!
    It's just all just NOISE.
I don't invest in stocks for now, especially after a big run up from March/April 2020.
For now, i mainly trade daily.
I'll only invest in some Blue Chips that will appreciate in value over time as well as pays regular dividends and ETF after a major market correction.

You'll soon observe that there are many trolls around , bag holders and those that comment with nothing but mere cheap words without putting their money where their mouth is.
Welcome to the market place! [undefined][undefined]

  • TrinityM stonks 30000 : it is not short term fluctuations, companies like alibaba will never do well again because of new regulation.
