$Boeing (BA.US)$ Sources in Canada say the reason is Boeing's attempts to shut down the C Series order placed by Delta Air Lines. The C Series now belongs to Airbus, Delta has more than 50 A220 airliners in service with almost as many still on order, and no Airbus model has been grounded while the MAX, which Boeing claimed it was trying to protect from the C Series, spent 2 years on the ground.
And now you lose a potential major order from the U.S. closest ally.
So was it worth it, Boeing?
Or are you willing to admit that the C Series complaint was just another one of the strategic failures that Boeing has made over the past ten years?

Dr Wickers : C-Series was bankrupt to begin with and government bailout to support low balling the price was the only option they had. The F-35 not matter how much it is hyped by Lockheed is worthless when compared to the capabilities of the F-22. The F-35 is the 1/2 trillion dollar cluster that was too big to fail with the Navy and the Marines having no input on the platform due to the Air Force controlling everything.
T_shares Dr Wickers : The F-22 is a legacy platform. Over a decade old, and a maintenance nightmare. F-35 is a true multirole aircraft with modern systems. I seriously doubt that the Canadians will be worrying about Russian Bears flying over the pole.
Mooncity : Boeing has been lying to us for somewhile now, commercially. They ran a product that killed hundreds, were arrogant in their blaming pilots, lied to the regulators and conspired to shortcut and disarm pilots everywhere. This company deserved to fail, not that it would have been in the national interest, but it deserved the fate nonetheless. This is a shame because I think Canada would be better off with the SuperHornet instead of the LMT product, which is just took costly, took hyper technical, too often in the repair shop and too often out of spares. But, typical Boeing arrogance -- says a close relative who works for a Tier #1 Boeing subcontractor.
James Browny : lol. The Canadians after spending $ Billions on bombardier C series sold it to Airbus for $1. Thanks Canada , jokes on you
EEEEgil James Browny : Boeing's anticompetitive practices killed the C series program. Their practices were illegal under US law and international trade law but were given a pass because they're Boeing. Now their arrogance on many fronts is coming back to bite them.
