  • 102758766 OP : But it’s weird though it should affect HK listed shares…

  • hgar : there's no delisting threat for Alibaba from either side.. China said they will do everything to avoid it as it would be disastrous for their economy and us-china relations. Alibaba already said they will comply with the new SEC rule last year

    this is fearmongering

  • T将军 : Can you ask Boss Ali to check it out? Small shareholders can't stand to be too frightened

  • 102758766 OP hgar : The US SEC just adopted rules that allows it to delist companies in jurisdictions that prevent them access to their auditors’ books. It’s not about BABA’s books. Theirs may be clean but the working papers of their auditors are prevented being audited by the US.

Also, Didi’s delisting will strike fear into the shareholders of all Chinese firms, who fear the delisting instruction from the Chinese govt might extend to them.

And it was also reported by caixin that the Chinese government is indeed workin on more regulations for overseas listed VIEs like BABA.

  • 102758766 OP 102758766 OP : Also, China’s side can say they would do anything to avoid delisting, but this has to be viewed in the broader aspect of US-China relations. And the US has to agree to work together too. It takes two hands to clap.

  • TrinityM hgar : it got delisted once in HK. They will do it again lmao
