Short-term yields are expected to rise 60 basis points next year as the Fed is set to begin a cycle of rate rises that could trigger a massive bond sell-off. But in the absence of substantial changes in structural fiscal policies, the final interest rate after the hike will return to the pre-pandemic interest rate. Analyst forecasts by the end of 2022, 10-year yields would rise modestly to 1.75%.
