yup yup. even if all brokers no more shares to borrow out there is still dark pool and swaps but those aren't available to retail investors.

hmm because there is 1.8billions shares out there that people can sell? grab employee can sell their ESOP, those early investor can sell, everyone with shares can sell, algorithm trader always buy and sell buy and sell. Not just people who short can sell. volume is less than 18m (1% of available float) shares only.

I believe most of the shares are still being locked up for 180 days from SPAC completion? I've been talking abt this but seems like no pro around to answer this.

those locked up might be accounted under shares outstanding not shares floating (depends on how the app calculate). shares floating are tradable shares. the 180 days locked share is not majority of the shares also. and you see grab now have 1.98b shares floating, yesterday was 1.88b. so 100m shares became available to trade.

can also see from moo moo app how much shorting is there. So yesterday volume was 26million but only 4% of the volume is caused by short seller. or in another words yesterday 1 million share were shorted. but 25 million share are sold by other investors who own the shares and decide to sell.
