According to reports, licenses for online education disciplines are about to be issued.

According to 21st Century Economic Reports, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education has announced the list of "back-to-change approval" for online extracurricular training institutions. As of December 1st, 14 online education institutions, including Xueersi, Zuoyebang, Penguin Tutoring, and Zhangmen Education, are "expected to pass the approval" and will obtain online discipline training licenses. Among the 14 institutions in Guangdong Province that are expected to obtain certificates, 7 are non-profit institutions that provide compulsory education and the other 7, such as Xueersi, Zuoyebang, and Zhangmen Education, are for-profit institutions that provide high school subject training.

According to the Guangdong Province "back-to-change approval" work plan, online subject training institutions in compulsory education stage must be registered as non-profit institutions, while those in high school stage can be registered as non-profit or for-profit institutions.
The most eye-catching names on the list are Xueersi, Zuoyebang, and Zhangmen Education, with the former two based in Beijing and the latter headquartered in Shanghai. However, according to the principle of local management, the operations of relevant entities in Guangdong Province are subject to approval by Guangdong.
