short term trading for me is not the objective, but rather the result of taking advantage of specific points in time. e.g I knew $Robinhood (HOOD.US)$ would sell off right after earnings and continue right after December 1st and I bought puts right before earnings. how did I know? I read news articles about ribits capital wanting permission from the SEC to sell early and I researched the SEC disclosures. I was rewarded very well. Reading everyday and understanding what's going on is very important to gain alpha.
