Dow Jones Drops As Jobless Claims Fall To 52-Year Low; Apple Hits More Highs; Lucid Motors Dives On

Dow Jones futures dropped 140 points Thursday, as jobless claims reached a 52-year low. Apple stock hit more all-time highs, while $Lucid Group (LCID.US)$ dived nearly 9% after announcing a debt offering.

Among the Dow Jones leaders, $Apple (AAPL.US)$ was up 0.8% early Thursday, while $Microsoft (MSFT.US)$ edged 0.1% higher in today's stock market. $Home Depot (HD.US)$ and $Nike (NKE.US)$ both dipped, holding below new buy points.

Electric-vehicle leader $Tesla (TSLA.US)$ moved down 2.5% Thursday. EV peer $Rivian Automotive (RIVN.US)$ was down more than 3%. $Lucid Group (LCID.US)$ skidded more than 9%. The company announced its intent to offer a $1.75 billion convertible senior note offering in a private placement. Chinese EV leaders $Li Auto (LI.US)$ and $XPeng (XPEV.US)$ were mixed after Thursday's open.

Among the top stocks to buy and watch, $Endeavor Group (EDR.US)$ , $Louisiana-Pacific (LPX.US)$ and $ZIM Integrated Shipping (ZIM.US)$ are in or near new buy zones. Despite the recent stock market strength, investors should still be developing watchlists, and avoid making new purchases until the market's current rally attempt stages a follow-through day.
