Quadruple witching day is coming
$S&P 500 Index(.SPX.US$ $Invesco QQQ Trust(QQQ.US$ Quadruple witching day is coming, next Friday the 17th.
For those who have been in the market a long time, is it a foregone conclusion the day will be red? If so, I plan to not buy much this week and wait till Friday.
Seems like a classic day where everyone here is clueless why the market is down, any witching day this year has seemed to produce that.

Ilona : Already had two of these this year. Nothing to write home about by itself. If there was a catalyst of some kind, like if Evergrande’s defaults hurt the market, then it would be an issue.
lailie : I fail to see why you think options expiration dates have to be "down" lol.
It can go up, down, or pin.
Last December the triple witching period the market went up 5.3% for the month.
