Starbucks was exposed to tampering with the expiration date to sell expired pastries
$Starbucks(SBUX.US$ On December 13, according to the Beijing News, an undercover investigation in two Starbucks stores in Wuxi City recently found that under the so-called "gold standard", some stores have touched the red line of food safety: the ingredients will continue to be used after the expiration date. Many of the best-selling drinks were sold; supervisors and clerk "teached by precepts and deeds" to tamper with the shelf life, and some ingredients were artificially "extended" for one week; cakes that promised "not overnight after opening" were secretly put on the shelves the next day.
After several days of undercover reporters, it was discovered that the above-mentioned chaos was not accidental. Driven by interests and oversight, some stores were pursuing the "hidden rules" of food safety.
