$Toyota Motor (TM.US)$ Toyota plans to invest 4 trillion yen ($35 billion) to build a full range of 30 electric vehicles by 2030. The company also plans to increase global sales of pure electric vehicles to 3.5 million a year by 2030, a sharp increase from the 2 million it proposed in May. Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda said the automaker will increase new investments in battery technology by 500 billion yen to 2 trillion yen, part of a 4 trillion yen investment in pure electric vehicles that will include capital spending and research and development.
