Mike Hunt OP : what annoys me about days like today is that in spite of oil spurting green, the market makers are keeping it from flying because they chose the downward algorithm to start today and hedges will be expecting a good closing price meaning lower. they need the price to not close at a high-level because on these kind of stocks you’ll see that one spike of 30% of the volume for the whole day right after close of market and in the first half hour of after hours trading. These are always the giant spikes at the end of the day that are exactly at the closing price. The market maker wholesale shares on the side for institutional buddies
