$Rivian Automotive(RIVN.US)$ Rivian has been called a current challenger to Tesla. But most analysts, including John Murphy of Bank of America Securities, generally expect operating profit to return to positive territory until at least 2025.
Rivian has done a lot to shore up investor confidence. On Thursday, Rivian announced an agreement with the state of Georgia to build its second factory there. Construction is expected to begin in the summer of 2022 and start production in 2024, with a designed capacity of 400,000 vehicles a year and 7,500 local jobs. Rivian estimated investment in the Georgia plant at around $5 billion.
