Basically it is to give us an estimation if people are buying more than selling and roughly who is buying who is selling. If a trade is done at the ask price or higher, the transaction amount is an instance of capital inflow; if a trade is done at the bid price or lower, the transaction is an instance of capital outflow. S, M, L and XL is the size of the trade. I.e. Small means like buy 1 buy 100. whereas XL is like buy 100k, 500k. So L and XL usually are institutions trading cause they buy sell 100k units 1 shot, and usually S and M is retail investors. https://www.moomoo.com/community/en/feed/106199217537029

But if a trade done at ask meaning to say it’s buying in that’s why capital inflow and it’s just opposite for trade done at bid price is it

yup you are right. so lets say the price now is 40. if the asking price is say 50 and people bought at 50 and above means people are trying to buy in and enter a position (capital inflow). then if the bid is 30 and people are selling it at 30 or below means people are trying to sell quickly so they are exiting (capital outflow). .
