Freshman Fomo Fumble
2021 is my first year trading stocks; my gains were short lived with Macy's at a 52% realized gain. I was hooked. I unfortunately learned a costly freshman lesson on riskier growth stocks, buying into companies I don't understand, and portfolio balancing. After February my losses kept me negative overall. September briefly showed hope as I got within 4% to break even, and now I'm down 38% overall which is the largest to date. some of my biggest failed trades are FTFT, AVPT, ZOM, BNGO and OLMA. AVPT and GNOG are also my biggest weighted positions at over 20%. I recently sold AVPT at a 50% realized loss and bought into $Airbnb(ABNB.US$ ABNB and some Intel. I use both and understand them. I feel more comfortable riding the volatility over the next several years with these two instead. I look forward to rebalancing my portfolio in 2022 and being more conservative with my future investments. I also hope to figure out how to evaluate a company instead of relying on YouTubers.

LADYTRADER79 : I watch as many videos as possible. Not youtubers opinions. instructional ones. On every aspect of this arena. They also have them here. If youre on other platforms they probably offer them as well. I personally also ask my younger boys nephews etc... things they think will take off on the game and kid in general area. so far ive kept 50% or above return. I started in the beginning of 2021 also, and was as clueless as you can get. I still consider myself that but hey I m doing alright. The healthcare industry was something to get in when covid hit. Metal shot up I bought in and it continues. im up 33% on just that investment. I pay attention to prices and if you have to trade and not hold its ok. Make your money. I hope i didnt bore you. I just like info and i felt maybe I could help. If you have anything to add im more that happy to listen. I am so intrigued and excited about this venture. Glad to see another newby like me. I have noticed moomoo has a good amount of info and that's encouraging. I'm impressed.
I get what your saying about asking around. I did happen to buy a couple shares of $Roblox (RBLX.US)$ at $70 and I asked a few parents if thier kids know of it prior. I downloaded it and played it over a weekend. I was sold and then invested in. I wish I did that earlier on like you. Another goal is to set up my kid so I gave him a share.
