What's the biggest mistake you've made while trading?

Being too stubborn

My biggest mistake so far was DCAing on $Aurora Cannabis(ACB.US)$ when it was like a falling knife. Cash holdings went down from $11k+ to $5k on that one stock alone. It was a lot of money for a beginner.

Yet I was too stubborn to cut loss, thinking that it would rise again but it never did for the entire year that I was holding it. The price became so low that it underwent a reverse stock split and my 600 shares became almost less than half of it. That was my wake up call and I sold it at the “best” price it could reach and removed the stock from my watchlist, never going to touch that industry again.

Lesson learnt, stop-loss order is very important.
