Investors continued to focus on the impact of the omicron mutant strain on the world economy during a subdued Christmas week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 309.63 points, or 0.89%, to 35241.79. The S&P 500 rose 39.95 points, or 0.87%, to 4,607.97.
