As mentioned above, the 3 main criterias to identify a company for long term are those with
1) Strong fundamental
2) Low debt
3) Great growth potential

Unlike trading which looks at short term speculative play in a company, investment looks at long timeline and would expect the identified companies to be soaring in value with time.
