$Apple (AAPL.US)$ Apple is offering big rewards this year in an effort to stem brain drain. Apple last week sent a notice to senior engineers in silicon chip design, hardware, software and operations that they would receive a substantial stock bonus of $50,000 to $180,000.
Most engineers received stock worth between $80,000 and $120,000 in the form of restricted stock units. The bonus can be phased in over four years, as long as the employee stays with Apple and doesn't move to another company.
