$Rivian Automotive(RIVN.US)$ Rivian will delay deliveries of its long-range electric pickup trucks and SUVs until 2023, chief executive RJ Scaringe said in an email to customers on Tuesday. Mr. Scaringer said the two cars had about 71,000 pre-orders in the United States and Canada, most of them for the Adventurous version of the Large battery pack option, while only 20% of the total were for the Max pack. The news will come as a blow to Rivian's customers and investors. One reason for the Rivian's high expectations is that its Max battery pack can offer a range of more than 640 kilometers, making it more competitive with most conventional pickups.
