I am working on a short video on shortsellers (hedge funds) against the retail investors. They are definitely able to capitalise on (i) momentum quants and traders and (ii) financial media's negative narrative thereby impacting the retail investors, who would not have the discipline and financial maturity to ride through the volatility.
Even long funds are impacted despite their holding power as they do not do so much frequent buying as compared to the high frequency traders and quant funds.
