HopeAlways : I would like to see myself as a patient investor. Benjamin Graham, often known as the 'father of value investing', emphasised on the importance of patience in investing. Patience and investing seem to be natural partners. Investing as a long term prospect where the benefits of which usually come after several years. Patience, too, is a behaviour where the benefits are mostly long term. To be a patient investor is to endure some short term hardship for a future reward.
Jeet Kune Do HopeAlways : Very good writing. Investing is an art and apart from intelligence and luck, personal characteristics play a part.
Syuee : I am an Independent Investor. Mostly, I rely on my own instincts, research, and personal information.
I am certainly a Critical Thinker with an independent approach who prefers to take time to analyze my options thoroughly. I tend to scrutinize investment processes and financial markets.
As I continue to evaluate my options and experience positive outcomes from my decisions, I gain more confidence.
Syuee HopeAlways : Inaction and patience are always the wisest options for long-term investors.
HopeAlways Syuee : Being an independent investor provides us with the freedom to make our own investing choices.
HuatLady HopeAlways : Nobody can veto the virtue of being patient. Wholeheartedly agree that patience is the star ingredient for a successful investor, especially so for the long term goal.
HuatLady Syuee : The practice of Critical thinking is a valued asset for all wise and successful traders. Investment loss and ultimately heartaches and regrets will result if investors fail to apply the principle of critical thinking prior to any investment strategies.
Revelation 6 : I’m a lucky investor. No, I don’t just pick stocks out of the air or use a dart board. I use stock screeners to narrow down my picks. I spend endless hours researching the stocks to narrow them down to my final choices. I check their past performance and attempt to predict their future trends. I pick my entry and exit points. It’s really a lot of work. Then, if everything comes together and I have interpreted correctly, I get lucky and make money. I’ve found that the harder I work, the luckier get. People say, “I would rather be lucky than good.” I say “ Don’t you have to be lucky to be good and vise versa?” Just saying.
Revelation 6 HopeAlways : Patience is a necessary ingredient to a great trader and it fits right between impatience and inaction. So what it all boils down to is timing. Timing is everything. Just saying.
HopeAlways Revelation 6 : Indeed, timing is very crucial for a successful trader.
