How did you deal with losses in the stock market?
Hi, mooers
Welcome back to Mooers' Stories! Last month, many of you shared your stories about the biggest mistake you've made while trading. In this session, we would like to know: How did you deal with losses in the stock market?
There is an old saying, "Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." This also applies to stock market trading. No one wants to lose, but losing money is part of the game. It can be very hard for investors to admit their mistakes and stop losses. However, what differentiates a successful investor from an average one is whether the investor can minimize losses and control the damage on time.
What did you do after losing money in the stock market? How did you manage it, both emotionally and financially? How did you make a comeback? What did you learn from the losses?

BULL HORN : losses are losses.. what to do .... cut loss and write off if hopeless
Invest SA2 : Just write off and eat less and spend less.
24497282 : get drunk then put more money
Scott Bailey : I have found it is best to let it go. One thing I found to help when trading stock is a short memory. You panicked selling the stock locking in these loss. Which will cause you to make bad judgements in future. Their is no way to stop losses in the market best you can do is learn from your mistakes. but don't dwell on them
Bowtie :
Jamie McKissick : Analyze where the trade went wrong, educate self how to not repeat.. then repeat anyway.
Amitk : Hold for long term
Kimbro : Patience is key. Instead of panic selling before stocks went to far in the red, I put my mind at ease by watch my favorite YouTubers maneuver through the losses. They convinced me that it is normal and the best thing to do in this time is buy more! I bought more and came up big time.
102530155 : To win you need to lose some… these situations happen all the time.. losses is part of the investing journey .. that’s my mentality… stay optimistic and be patient
101847282 : Know your limit, do not chase after losses as it might go deeper into more losses. Write down your mistake. Earn enough and reenter the market or switch to a new one.
