Trading the news can be hit or miss. The cliche, "Buy the Hype, Sell the News" can be profitable, if timed correctly. For example, last year I bought into the Gamestop hype, and got out when the news of them transitioning into an online business model came out, and the squeeze triggered. The hype of the squeeze, and Wallstreet Bets, rocketed it upto levels never seen before. However, things can go south quickly. Timing the buy and sell is key to making profits. Don't wait until everyone else catches the news, by then it's usually too late. Don't gamble with money you can't afford to lose. Stock markets go up in staircases, but go down in elevators.
