I have done this many times, in fact I can singlehandedly take down the market at times with my poor timing However, what I have learned is that if you do some homework and pick solid companies you can recover by ignoring your emotions and adding a little strategy. Example, I bought Disney a while back when dropped to around 100. Went up a bit, then down, but it had good multiples, so I bought smaller bites on dips and am sitting pretty good right now. Did similarly with Apple and Netflix. On the flip side I have screwed up plenty as well, but I learned that quality companies and a little homework greatly improves the results. BTW, you can do the same with sector ETFs and sleep better by minimizing wild swings. 🤞🤞
