Woodlands : Index :SPX ( s & p 500)
Daily chart
MA 5 : 3696.932
MA 120: 3436.966
For long term investment time frame, I would refer to the MA 120 as it gives a longer time frame average reference.

Darkbishop : Index: Hang Seng Index
Based on 1 day timeframe
5 day MA: 22610.81
120 day MA: 24394.32
The usage of the moving averages whether a lower day moving average, higher day moving average or a different type of moving averages depends on the strategy used by the investor/trader. A short term moving average considers prices over a shorter period of time and is more reactive to daily price changes while a long-term moving average considers prices over a longer period of time. There are pros and cons to both short and long term moving averages. Personally, I do prefer a longer time moving average as it allows a clearer picture of the trend over the long time. Longer moving averages offers a smoother line, less prone to temporary price changes etc.
101639435 : Index: Nasdaq Composite index
Based on Daily timeframe
5 day Moving Average: 13640.82
120 day Moving Average: 14921.49
I would prefer the 120 day Moving average as it shows the overall trend over a longer period of time and it does not react too fast to price changes which allows clearer view of the trend.
精灵看看 : $Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI.US)$
MA5 - 33672.30
MA120 - 35208.72
MA120 days as it has more historic data to project the performance of the index.
NayaZindagi : Index : SG Straits Times (STI)
Daily chart
MA 5 : 3348.90
MA 120: 2955.33
I will choose to refer to MA 120 for long-term investment as its a more accurate time average for reference.
luckysilky : Index: .IXIC (Nasqad composite index)
MA: 5-day 13640
120-day 14921
I prefer to use the 120-day MA for longer term investment. And 5-day MA for short term buy Low sell high kind of stock.
Elon-buffett : Index : SPX
MA 5 = 3696.932
MA 120 = 3436.966
For long term, I would want to have a broader view of the moving average. Hence MA120 will be a better indication.
steady Pom pipi : Index:$Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC.US)$
5-day moving average: 13640.82
120-day moving average: 14921.49
Since the 120-day EMA changes slowly, once a trend forms or changes, it will continue for a period of time whether it rises or falls. Therefore, investors can grasp the medium- to long-term stock price movement trend from changes in the 120-day EMA.
meows27 : Index: 800100 Han Seng China Enterprise Index
Based on time frame of 1D,
MA5 = 7,976.20
MA120 = 8,638.46
For long-term investment purpose, it is recommended to use 120-day moving average (MA120) as it is more suitable for identifying longer-term direction of the market. MA120 is less sensitive than MA5 to price change when there is a sudden price shock.
