Dealing with Regrets and Missed Opportunities
Missed opportunities can trigger harmful emotions like, anger, resentment, and regret. Most investors know, that emotion-based trading decisions can frequently lead to bad outcomes. it’s Fear and greed that drives us to buy near the tops and sell in panic near bottoms.
Greed and fear are powerful emotions, but REGRET is the most damaging and lingers the longest, especially when it leads to taking on higher risks to “make up” for the missed opportunity.
Yesterday, I purchased BABA 3/18 88calls at .48. Sold them all shortly after for .60, so about 20% profit. Decent trade that put me up over 50% for the day, which Is an amazing day for anyone in this market. I was happy, but damn does it hurt watching those calls go for 8.40+ per contract today +1200%. 🤢it’s illogical, but a natural human reaction.
You have to learn how to let it go and focus on the next opportunity. Better yet, stay focused on what’s really important: your own long-term goals and strategy. Focus on the positive. Good luck to all!

麦克斯007 : Good advice thanks
strangecloud : Thank you! I need this. I will focus on the future and not my regrets.
MuscMoo : best advice I ever received was to remember with investing, you're always going to leave something on the table. there's no way to time everything at the very top(or bottom), and even if you do you'll just think that you should have invested even more..... so no matter what, you will never time things perfectly so take that off yourself....
Yalole : Good advice. Regret is something is something really hard to let go even in life. Hope we can all move on and focus on a brighter future.
