The war in Ukraine is a total travesty. I agree with President Biden as he says that Putin is a thug and a gangster. It can still be difficult to determine which stocks are going to be affected and how. Initially, I expected shares of ExxonMobil to rise significantly; however, they did not. Overall, the stock is doing well, though. Two weeks ago, it seemed the entire market, aside from a few positions, was taking heavy loss. Then last week, most things seemed to rebound. Again, this week seems to look good, not as good as last week. My tact was to buy the dip as much as I could and can afford. It's a good time to get in on long-term growth stocks. Most that I look at are down fairly significantly. So that is my position, continue to build my portfolio, pick up the expensive stocks during a bear market, then hold on. Preferably for years!
To the civilians, the soldiers, and everyone fighting to keep their freedom and survive in Ukraine. I am highly impressed with your bravery, courage, and strength. My heart and prayers are with you. Already you have proven how resilient and resolved you are to fight for what is right. God bless.
