Tendies? YOLO? Can anyone explain this to me?
Views 117K Contents 254

What's the best starting point for beginners? Learning some stocks market world 🌎 languages 🥸

What does it mean when traders talk about the diamond hands, tendies, and stonks?
Diamond hands 💎 = Holding a stock for long-term / high risk tolerance

Similar but is different ...
Paper hands 📃="investors who sell investments too early, often because they are risk averse."

Tendies = Blah *****$%&#@ , yar that's how it is.
Beginners: Again?
Me: Blah *****$%&#@♤♡◇♧
Beginners: Again? (What is "Blah *****$%&#@♤♡◇♧" )
Me: Har, I can't hear u, pardon?
Beginners: AGAIN!
Me: IDK, WHY DON'T U JUST GO SEARCH FROM GOOGLE ( $Alphabet-A (GOOGL.US)$)
( Don't mind me, I'm 20% kidding)
[Tendies: Collect money after the investment make a profit. At that point, an investor could collect his or her "tendies."]
Source: NANA123 :I know these lingos
(Check out her post out for some extra stock market languages. Not going to repeat it .)

Stonks (I also don't know, so let check it out together)
= “a share of the value of a company which can be bought, sold, or traded as an investment”
= "The word is often used humorously on the internet to imply a vague understanding of financial transactions or poor financial decisions."

And what about pump and dump?
Pump & Dump = Big investors buy in certain stock rapidly to push price up & sell off all suddenly to small investors in the open market when the stock price reached their goal of high pricing

For example, long, short, float, and dividend. What do these words mean?
Long = Buy
Short = Sell
Float = Google="the total number of shares that are available for public investors to buy and sell"
Dividend = Partial of a stock company's profit gives back to investors

Would you like to teach beginners the common trading lingos and terms?
Not really...=
But if they ask, I will reply if I knows the answer.
(I got better things to do)

YOLO?
[“You Only Live Once.” Used to acknowledge engaging in reckless behavior or throwing caution to the wind.]
Basically follows trend & buy, I think 🤔 .

FOMO?
The fear of missing out on investment opportunities, especially those that have a lot of buzz around them.

YOLO vs FOMO?
I "guess" :
YOLO=Daring (Follow trends=optimistic?)
FOMO=Fear (Missing out=pessimistic?)
Basically both are emotional investors with different personality .
Am I correct?
If someone with a better explanation = comment below .

DCA = Dollar Cost Average
Seen me mentioned this a lots right?
Basically is averaging down ur position stock price at certain low price when the stock price fall (buy in=make sure is a good company)
Or check out from @moomoo Learn if still catch no ball ⚽️.
(Lazy to keep explaining over again & again)

Lastly, my extra version that I learned & my favourite:
DYODD = Do Your Own Due Diligence
Something like do ur own research on stock market at OTOT (own time own target)
No bias view & get ur facts right !

Finally, I will welcome all beginners to the world of stocks market that is filled with some weird words like "Ape🦧, Monkey 🐒, Donkey, Bull 🐂, Bear 🐻, Whale 🐋, Clown 🤡 (wow, like a whole animals zoo, 1 get thrown into the mix) , Boat ⛴, Rollercoaster 🎢, Rocket 🚀,  Moon🌙 (why no sun🌞? I also DK, maybe too hot 🔥?), Space🌌, Waves 🌊, Diamond 💎, Rock 🪨".
The same word but different meaning.
What're those words?
Hey, that's common sense/knowledge. That's ur homework for the day . (Check out others' post for answers)

*IDK/DK = I don't know (Damn, do I needs to spell it out)

Ah! It's coming, the outro sentence.

As usual, DYODD before investing
