Elon Musk, the "edge lord," made some more wild comments about $Tesla (TSLA.US)$ may start production of a humanoid robot known as Optimus as early as next year.
The electric vehicle maker first teased of the Tesla Bot, at its "AI Day" in Aug. 2021, saying it will be a general purpose machine capable of doing a wide range of tasks.
[Optimus is] intended to be friendly, of course, and navigate through a world of humans, and eliminate dangerous, repetitive and boring tasks.

The "Tesla Bot" is the "most important product" that Tesla is developing this year, CEO Elon Musk said Wednesday on a fourth-quarter earnings call, putting it ahead of the Cybertruck and other vehicles, including the Semi and the Roadster.
He can ship whatever he wants next year, since he is the boss, but there is no way that version one will come anywhere near his ambitions, if it is released that quickly.

He told CNBC he'd be willing to make a bet that no robot will be able to do all human tasks by the end of 2023.
Musk has missed his targets of full autonomy previously. In 2019, he said robotaxis with no human drivers would be available in 2020. Those robotaxis are nowhere to be seen now.
