How do you cope with the rising recession risk?
Views 174K Contents 267

Why it's difficult to have an investment strategy during a recession

If you are a long term investor with the primary goal of investing to plan for retirement, there is no need to come up with a strategy that involves dumping some of your holdings. Most long term investors hold ETFs that provide broad exposure to all stocks in the S&P 500, such as VOO or VTI. During a recession, you will see these ETFs fall rapidly & you can easily lose 50% of your money. This is not the time to dump these investments. You should ride it out and wait for the market to stabilize
