$Meta Platforms (FB.US)$CEOMark Zuckerberghas been a critic of$Apple (AAPL.US)$'s app store fees of 30%, but Meta's latest move to charge creators nearly half their sales on its own platform has angered many of them.
The company plans to take a47.5%cut of all digital asset sales on itsHorizon Worlds platform.
The overallcharge comprisesof30%hardware platform fee for sales made through Meta Quest Store, where it sells apps and games meant for its virtual reality headsets, and a further17.5%cut as its Horizon platform fees, a Meta spokesperson said on Wednesday.
By comparison, NFT sales onOpenSeacarry just a 2.5% commission.
Mooers, any thoughts on Meta's fee structure? Will Meta's high fee structure dissuade content creators from taking part in the experiment?
