Views 113K Contents 414

Index ETFs offer simple investment and high transparency.

iEdge-OCBC Singapore Low Carbon Select 50 Cap Index tracks the 50 largest and represents the Singapore entities and financial economy of listed companies.

As part of the new exchange's sustainable development index product series, the index adopts an exclusion method, excluding a large number of companies involved in the fossil fuel industry, and maintains the best choice for the industry based on the GHG emissions in Scope 1 and Scope 2 according to the GHG per unit of income.

The index, composed of the top 50 listed companies ranked by market capitalization, has a weight upper limit to ensure the diversification of the investment portfolio. The environmental and carbon intensity data are sourced from Sustainalytics. The decarbonization effect of the index's investment portfolio is measured by weighted average carbon intensity (WACI), which is a recommended indicator by the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) for asset owners and managers to report to their beneficiaries and clients. From historical data, the WACI of the index has averaged a 50% reduction compared to the standard market value-weighted index.

The new index tracks the carbon intensity performance of 50 companies registered or located in Singapore and listed on both the Singapore and global exchanges, offering investors an opportunity to reduce their portfolio's carbon footprint. With the continuous improvement of the new exchange group's index construction capabilities in ESG, low carbon, and climate risk, the introduction of this index will further strengthen the new exchange's sustainable development index series.
