MARIJUANA

Please join me in sending the president our thoughts on Marijuana decriminalization and legalization. Washington could use the addition billions of dollars in tax revenue.
We must be proactive in our approach to get this legislation passed. The Democrats are ineffective in building a coalition as the Dem's have competing pieces of legislation. The Republicans are to old and set in their beliefs no matter how wrong they are. Senator Marco Rubio, you would think holding the position that he does, he would be better informed to know that the designation of Marijuana as a Gateway drug has been debunked with many actual studies. As a matter of fact many of the beliefs we once held with regards to Marijuana and the malady's that would have befallen our communities never materialized.

The interesting thing here now today is Marijuana Legalization vs Opiod Crisis. Lets contrast just from 2014 until 2022 Marijuana legalization legal across the board in 18 states. Colorado, Washington State, Oregon, were the first three state to legalize and the longest running operations. Not in these three states nor in any of the 15 other states have we experienced anything like what the federal government had lamented.  Where we have seen the addiction, poverty and deterioration of the community has been with Opiods. The big difference is Opiods are powerful and have a component that your body literally craves and when it doesn't get that enzyme an opiod addict will become physically sick. Marijuana doesn't have this component, alcohol does. tobacco somewhat with the nicotine.

We need to refine how we classify and refer to drugs/ chemicals as some are addictive meaning that the human body has a strong physical reaction that causes illness when the drug use is abruptly discontinued. Then there are others like Marijuana, where people will say it is addictive, however Marijuana does not carry a component that the human body must have. Marijuana and these other drugs are not addictive they can be habit forming. Meaning setting into a ritual

We can see from the chart below that there are a number of states that have legalized Marijuana overall resulting in a windfall of additional tax revenue for the federal governent.
