Oh my, Condo rents are too high now

Condo rents have reached new heights in April after it rose 2.3 per cent during the month. This is the 16th consecutive month of grow!!! And year on year, rents increased 15.1 per cent compared to April 2021.
I always fancy Condo for its good facilities, now im thinking maybe i should consider the alternatives??
Can someone explain what are the pros & cons among HDB flat and private property please?

  • doctorpot1 : if you are local, HDB you can get it for very cheap via BTO or sales of balance. if you are lucky to get a good area, your capital appreciation is crazy fast (especially during this housing "bubble" in the last 2 years). I 2x my money on HDB already. plus the mortgage is very cheap as compared to condo, so those saving can either invest or save up.

    The bubble ah, dunno eh, gahmen tried to cool it down but still rallying leh. I thought my Propnex shares will GG after the cooling measure but still staying strong hahahahhaa. I don't think will come down so soon cause the supply still cannot keep up with demand.

    Good for you for buying Propnex! I just looked it up, the trend seems to be going up!! Looks like it will not GG at least in a short term, haha, relax

  • nickelrust : If u buying properties for investment purposes, then condo would be a better option, the appreciation tends to be quicker and higher than HDB.
    But of cos considerations like the location, if its freehold, amenities in the neighbourhood, proximity to MRT, future development of the area etc plays a part.
    If u alr own a property, and intend to get a 2nd one, the ABSD might turn u off. But if its a mid term investment, say 5-10 years, then u gotta forecast ur ROI and assess if its worth it.

  • nickelrust : If its for ur own stay, i guess the u gotta feel right abt the house when u view it, and ask urself whats the most impt to u.
    Location? Sun-facing? which floor? even ur future neighbors sometimes makes a difference.
    follow ur instinct!
