SG spotlight: Holding cryptocurrencies becomes a trend

According to a survey, cryptocurrency investment is becoming more mainstream in Singapore, with the majority of the country's population not only knowing about cryptocurrencies, but also holding 40% of them, with 76% of them holding more than two or more types of cryptocurrencies.

Among those who have already invested in cryptocurrencies, half said they did so because of recommendations from family and friends, while about 40% said they did so to diversify their portfolios or out of curiosity.

Local cryptocurrency exchange Independent Reserve released its latest survey, which found that 90% of respondents were aware of cryptocurrencies, with bitcoin, Ether, and Dogecoin being the most widely known.
