Respond to volatile markets: Long or Short?

Do we really need choose between the 2 ?

For long-term holder, just hold onto ur line if u believe the bull 🐂 will come back stronger 💪. Well, it may take 1 year or so... the most 2 years...
That is a cheap price to pay for it . Warren Buffett said something similar, that 10 years are then considered long-term investors (I thinks that what he's trying to indicate ?) Of course u will see ur position with lots of losses 📉 in the "maybe" coming recession, but just believe that the bull 🐂 will come back stronger 💪 in the future .
(However, make sure that the company that u long in is a good company.)
$SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY.US)$
$Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (VOO.US)$

If I'm correct, long=buy & short=sell ➡️ buy & sell.

NOTE: ALL OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED IS NOT AN ADVISE BUT JUST MY POINT OF VIEWS.
