Singapore shares opened were flat on Monday. The $富時新加坡海峽指數(.STI.SG)$ increased 0.01 per cent to 3,232.26 as at 9:04 am.

Advancers / Decliners is 87 to 61, with 114.05 million securities worth S$44.95 million changing hands.

Singapore's chicken supply assured via many sources

Singapore expects to receive more chicken imports from several countries in the coming weeks, said Minister of State for Home Affairs and Sustainability and the Environment Desmond Tan. This will help the city-state maintain supply even after Malaysia halted exports at the start of the month.

"We will be expecting more supplies of both chilled chicken from Australia and Thailand, and frozen chicken from sources such as Brazil and US in the coming weeks," Tan said in a Facebook post on Saturday. "Rest assured, there is adequate supply of chicken for everyone if we continue to do our purchase normally."
