Everyone knows that Buffett is a big fan of index funds and he recommended to regularly buy S&P 500 index fund.
"In my view, for most people, the best thing is to do is owning the S&P 500 index fund."
S&P 500 Index ETFs
The S&P 500 Index consists of the top 500 blue-chip companies in the US. It's no surprise that investors like S&P 500 ETFs.
There are many ETFs tracking it. $Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (VOO.US)$ , $SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY.US)$ , and $iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV.US)$ are three popular ones.

In addition to this large-scale index ETFs, you can also consider sectors that might do well in the long run by tracking sector ETFs. Some top sector ETFs are listed below.
1. Energy
The energy sector has been one of the hotter sectors in the last two years. With energy prices such as oil and gas prices boosted by inflation and economic recovery, energy-related stocks led the way in 2021. Large ETFs in the energy sector include $Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE.US)$ , $Vanguard Energy Index Fund ETF (VDE.US)$ , and $SPDR S&P Oil & Gas Exploration & Production ETF (XOP.US)$ , all offering exposure to oil, gas, energy equipment, and services companies. All of these ETFs returned more than 50% in 2021.
