I only buy options at the moment. I just started trading at the late 4th quarter of last year. when I started I had no strategy. Didnt even know what one was. I am on Disability. but got my lump sum. I had paid all my bills off and had 6,000. left. was told I couldn't have more than 2000 in my account or my disability would be cut. I learned that I could buy stock though and it didn't count and I only had to pay taxes when I sold them. So that was my strategy. I knew nothing at all. I saw moo that was the first place I saw for retail buyers so I joined. so glad I did in the long run. I just bought stocks from companies that had a long life. Who had been in business and I heard alot on the news. I bought Disney apple Tesla and a few others that I just liked. I bought Nio because I liked the name. didn't even no it was an electric car company. For the first couple of weeks I was on top of the world stocks were going up. I felt like I was smart and this was going to be easy. little did I know that was very far from the truth. I read a little on moo. did a couple of courses. That I'd when reality hit. my stocks started to drop then up then down I started to panic sell and buy. That's when I saw about emotional and panic buying and selling article. it hit home. Until someone said. you dont loose money as long as you dont sell at a lose that hit home. so i stopes so I started doing courses to find out how to navigate this storm I was in. thats when I came accross an article about strategies and how to pick stocks and learned I wasn't that smart at all. I read Warren saying buy smart and hold. never spend more than you can afford to loose. so I started to develop a strategy. I slowed down and really began to study. reading what others had gone through or what they were going through at the moment. I stopped buying new stocks. Read about buying on different areas Tech. retail, auto so on. I started studying the companies that I had bought learning about them. switched a few to diversify my portfolio. Didn't even know what it was at first. so part of my strategy became learning constantly. reading about others strategies and implementing what I felt I could use for me. what works for me. I learned that my strategy is ever changing and evolving as I learned more and more. learning how charts and graphs worked and how to use them properly. Ever expanding my stock vocabulary. it has been an ongoing process. Different types of buying will come when I feel comfortable in making sound and intelligent decisions. The biggest part of my strategy is growth not only in my portfolio but in knowledge and confidence. that comes with patience and studying. it will all come together when it does. I am in no hurry. I only have modest amounts to invest at the moment so I keep adding to my account so when the time is right I have the funds to do it wth sound smart decisions. How I execute my strategy is with patience and knowledge. Having confidence on my decisions knowing I will make mistakes but will have the knowledge to overcome them. thanks for being here to help me do that. moo community.
