TeslaSmurf : No doubt: IF the hikes do not cause a recession the FED action would be useless, as it is the only way to calm down the inflation (besides ending the war = lower oil prices and better POLITICS = healthier fundamentals instead of so much easily printed money).

Cow Moo-ney OP TeslaSmurf : You’re right, those that you have mentioned eg war, old prices, politics etc are unlikely within the Fed’s control. So they can only take money away from consumers, bring down demand for goods and services and slow down the economy, in attempt to curb inflation
