Hahaha, no one can beat the stock market. But smart people will avoid a crisis; they will do their homework in advance. As for us, we can follow in the footsteps of large institutions through observation.
You do not need to be smart, in order to beat the market.
If you are more controlled emotionally, then, you will be a better trader in comparison to a smart person who have less control on his/her emotions.
Because in the stock market - you will win longer run, if you have control on your emotions
To be a successful trader, you do not need to be very smart.
It is all a psychological game, and understanding the psychology of the crowds and of the individual self is what matters the most.
Evolving strategies, psychological view, risk management, self awareness, discipline, emotional balance, play a major role in the success of a trader than smartness~ .

There is no decisive evidence as to prove that investments being managed by smart individuals are able to perform better. Contrary to what we may expect, not all intelligent people make better decisions if they tend to be excessively complacent in their moves. Such attitudes will certainly be their proverbial Achilles heels that can trigger off their downfalls.

yes some smart people will always beat the market, who are they? They are the one that created hedge funds and SPACs. They use other people's money to gamble, and regardless if they win or lose money, they are getting millions in compensation that is coming out of other people's pocket.
what about the rest of the smart people who don't create a deal that is 100% guaranteed to benefit them? hmmm, they ain't so smart, aren't they hahahahaha
