Knowing the company product is a key advantage for retail investors
TLDR: I bought into $Grab Holdings (GRAB.US)$, because of its product and disruption I saw. Basically, there won't be a case where we go back on the street to hail a cab in the next few years. Most people will still order in despite huge fee. So everyone will be ordering through GRAB or its competitors. GRAB is a one stop shop, so it probably will win due to convenience to users and the network effect.

What was this product/service?
I'm a user of GRAB and after using it and see how people in Singapore are using it, I started investing in the company shares. I wrote a post a while back which is quite relevant to this question, on the disruption that GRAB had cause in Singapore here:

The post discussed on how GRAB was first designed to solve the problem where it is difficult to flag down a taxi when you need it. However, it disrupted the whole taxi industry and kind of caused the problem to worsen, as it is almost impossible to flag down a taxi now.
So GRAB had created an environment where you have to use one of the apps in order to get a "taxi" now. Thus, it will be a winner takes all market, which I'm betting on GRAB.
Did you make moves to trade? If you did, was it successful? If you didn't, why?
I don't see how we will be revert to flagging down a taxi. I don't see how food delivery will cease to exist in Singapore even in a recession. Thus, the conclusion is that GRAB is very unlikely to close down, therefore I can just DCA it and sell covered call on it. Currently, I'm on paper loss on this stock. But over the long run so long GRAB doesn't go bankrupt, it will become profitable even if the share price stays low. However, it the share price rebounce, then HUAT LIAO hahahhahahaha

Which of the following statements about margin rate is false?
A.
The initial margin rate equals the reciprocal of leverage in margin trading and securities trading.
B.
Generally speaking, a lower maintenance margin rate requires more deposit to open a position.
C.
Maintenance margin = Account assets’ market value * Account assets’ maintenance margin rate
The answer?
doctorpot1 OP 1994CM : should be B. with lower maintenance margin or initial margin, you will need less money in your account and not more.
