Independence Day Market Holiday: US stock market is closed on Monday, July 4
Hello, mooers. US stock and bond markets are closed on Monday, July 4, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
The Fourth of July, or Independence Day, is a federal holiday commemorating the ratification of the U.S. Declaration of Independence, which wasratified by the Second Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, establishing the United States of America.
This year, the Fourth of July falls during the first full week of the third quarter. Right after the end of what has been a brutal first half of the year for equity markets. This month, the third-quarter earnings season will ramp up in earnest, with large banks such as $JPMorgan (JPM.US)$, $Morgan Stanley (MS.US)$, $Wells Fargo & Co (WFC.US)$, and $Citigroup (C.US)$ expected to release results.
As we are officially halfway through 2022, there are only three upcoming holidays: Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. The subsequent incoming holiday closure would be Independence Day on Monday, Sept 5.
Enjoy the summer and fireworks with your family and friends!
