This will be fun !
Now I can make money shorting (or buying, without shorting TSLA, which I would NEVER do) a 3x inverse ETF against TSLA stock.
Here the picture of it’s first day of listing:

courageous Quokka_93 : Can advise how to short when I am still holding on to the stock ? Unless I sell what I already have
warrior-sailormoon courageous Quokka_93 : I also been wondering how to short n what is short. I’m holding on stocks
K1ngK0ng : u cannot have long position to short. u must short without any shares/position by jus clicking the sell button.
another way is have another account to short while still holding ur long position
shorting can be dangerous, do it with care.
warrior-sailormoon K1ngK0ng : Thank you for ur explanation. I better stay away from short. I’m a newbie
TeslaSmurf OP : If you are a long term investor in Tesla you don’t short TSLA (for two reasons: because you can’t do it in the same account and because you don’t do it as a principle). This does not mean you can’t trade (buy and sell) your long term portfolio a few times a year when is convenient (I sold 2/3 of mine last year and now I am finishing buying them back at a much lower price, before the SPLIT announcement). At the same time you can day-trade too and use the dayly profits to reduce your buying price average and/or to buy more stocks.
The NEWS is that with this new inverse ETF you can profit (or just compensate if you hold a TSLA portfolio) when the stock price goes down: what I have been doing first shorting the VIXY then the TQQQ, but not so efficiently as they are not directly related to TSLA.
The new TSLQ inverse 3X ETF instead is directly based in the TSLA performance, so, when TSLA is on a downtrend you can trade TSLQ and profit without having to sell TSLA.
