AMC Entertainment's Q2 2022 Earnings Conference Call is to be hosted on August 4 after the U.S. markets close! The consensus estimate for revenue is expected at $1159 million, indicating a nearly 1.6 times YoY growth. The EPS is estimated at ($0.19) for this quarter.
On Q1 2022, AMC got the best record since the pandemic started. With the film slate improving, an increasing number of customers might return to theatres, which could help AMC's recovery in revenue further.
Although the recovery is likely to continue on Q2, AMC may still spend more than it earns. Wall Street believes operating costs will come in approximately $1.16 billion in Q2, outstripping revenue and rising around 57% from 2021. This also means AMC booked $212 million in additional costs compared to Q1 2022. Besides, it's unclear whether the potential recession will influence people's budget for some general reputation movies. Indeed they can still watch these movies on smaller screens at home.
