In a note, the company said the Covid-19 pandemic has led to several change of habits, which led to an increase in food orders and an exponential takeup of its GrabMart service.
GrabMart was in testing phase just months before the first Covid-19 cases were reported in the region. The service grew 50% week-over-week as it was rolled throughout the region in 2020.
“With that growth, we were also able to use the data from these orders to continually refine the experience, both for our delivery partners, and end-users,” the company said.
As the region returns to life before the pandemic, Grab has also seen a growth in average rides per second.
Thailand marked the highest increase in average rides per second, going up threefold from the start of the pandemic to today. Meanwhile, Singapore tracks the longest rides at 11.2 kilometers per ride on average.
